There are drinking vessel in many poetries in South and North Song Dynasty,including the poetries uses allusion,but many of them with realistic works.At Song Dynasty,Pang Yuanying has a sentence in “Wen Chang Za Lu”,as follows:

Taishi Lugong died,Kai Feng Tui Guan,Mr.Zhao Junxi wrote 20poeties to see him off,including the following poetry which is widely read by people:music people always from Jiaofang is praised by every person on the wine table.waiters pour wine into the banana leaf,Rayal grant golded flower”.Taishen Lugong is Wen Yanbo.The banana leaf hereabove is from Jin Zhong,but it is not exclusive to Royal. “banana leaf cup”can be seen in the Song poem frenquenly.such as,the poetry “one banana cup of wine” in “papaver rhoeas and together with Kong Chun to see Zheng Daosen off to Yanzhou”was wrote by Mr.Wang Zhidao.the poetry “To see  his friend off and drink more than ten banana leaf cups of wine”in “Good matter is coming and seeing off”is written by Mr.Gao Deng.The poetry “the wine Jue Rui in banana leaf cups” in “papaver rhoeas and plum” was wrote by Ge Lifang.The poetry “a banana leaf cup of wine make Bai Juyi warm,jade mirror make Wen Qiao cold”in “Rhyming Snow” was wroten by Li Zhiyi, and so on.This couplet of poetry of Li is virtual writting,If the poetic environment gathered realitic scenes together,which can be ingenious. As there is a silver banana leaf with short stem as a handle and work fine wide banana leaf as cup came up from tomb of Zhang Tongzhi,the son of poet Zhang Xiaoxiang,the banana leaf cup is real.So,what the poetry wrote has the life basis.

Su Dongpo has two poetries “drink with Tao Yuanming alone in rain”.The following is the foreword of the poetry:i was banished to Hainan and sole wine cup for food and clothing,Only the unique,work fine lotus leaf cup is keeped for myself to enjoy and drink with Tao Yuanming, “drink alone in the rain of many days””.This lotus leaf cup is gold or jade,which is not mentioned in his poetry.But there is a poetry of Su Dongpo,which has the title “drinking alone using jade and slip cup,don’t miss the moon and good view for poetry tomorrow night”.He said in the poetry:to Melt lead and boil white stone as jade is really self-deception.carving as wine cup and scraping to be Dingzhou percelain.although the heart of lotus is narrow and shallow,the mirror surface is good and smooth”. If the poetry wrote the reality,“To melt lead and boil white stone”is same as “making from lead galsses”today.and the advantage of this cup is find work.About the lotus leaf cup,its hear is narrow and shallow,the two poetries wrote one.A piece of white jade lotus cup came out from the tomb of Shi Shengzu in South Song Dynatry in Quzhou,Zhejiang.One lutos leaf is small and another is big.The big one is cup,the smaller one is pressure plate up the cup handle.A lotus leaf stalk below the cup is the handle of this lotus cup.

Another form of lutus leaf cup is not the simulation of lutos,but with the lotus as bankgroud,its theme decoration is turtle.A silver cup with a turtle lying on the lutos leaf is in cellaring of gold and silver implements of Song Dynasty in Peng Zhou,Chengdou.A piece of lutos leaf with 16curves and veins slender is in the heart of cup,A turtle swimming or not is in the hart of lutos leaf.    

The verse“It is the birthday party of Yao’s mother,who using lotus leaf cup wth turtile swimming in to pour wine” from “Sheng Cha Zi”,which is written by Hong Shi and another verse “the turtle is thousands of years old in green and clear water swim during the lotus leaves. The god of longevity,Yao’s mother,drink one after another.”all describes this kind of matter.The verse “the turtle is thousands of years old  swim during the lotus leaves”is from “the turtle is thousands of yers old and five colores ,it knows man’s language and floats on the lotus leaf or swim below the plexus yarrow.”Poets like the story that the turtle swim during lutos leaves and take it in poetry.that turtle lied on the lutos leaf is one of the auspicious thing in “Rui Ying Tu” of Dunhuang Literature.and a  poet praised it by a verse “the turble is three hundred years old and swim upon the lutos leaves”
